Lingering finish of almond, chocolate and lemon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background Information:\u00a0<\/strong>Located in the volcanic highlands of Santa Rosa, Guatemala, Finca El Durazno and a collective of 20 dedicated producers carry on a rich legacy of coffee cultivation that dates back over a century. \u00a0This region has long been regarded as one of Guatemala\u2019s key coffee-growing areas, where fertile soils and high altitudes create ideal conditions for specialty coffee production. \u00a0At the heart of this legacy is the Castillo family, who have nurtured coffee trees and community ties across five generations, beginning with Don Cirilo Castillo in 1893. \u00a0His passion and knowledge have been passed down through generations, culminating in today\u2019s dynamic leadership by Emanuel Castillo, who guides both the farm and a wider group of smallholder growers through the &#8220;Cosechando Esperanza&#8221; (Harvesting Hope) program.\u00a0 Coffee from this region is traditionally processed using the washed method, utilising the farm\u2019s long-established wet mill. \u00a0In recent years, the producers have begun experimenting with natural and honey processing in small batches, bringing vibrant and diverse profiles to their offerings. \u00a0Sustainability and social responsibility are central to the work of these producers. \u00a0Through the HARVEST HOPE program, they follow a five-year farm management plan that incorporates environmental education, responsible agrochemical use, and waste reduction measures such as secure disposal of chemical containers. \u00a0The initiative also invests in the future of the community, offering ongoing training in financial literacy, agronomy, and sustainable practices\u2014empowering families to build resilience and opportunity from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p>N.B.
